Steel Block Bandits Press Release – March 5, 2010

Allegany County Speedway “THE ROCK” forced
to move Western Maryland Nationals

On the morning of March 4th the Allegany County Fair Board informed Oval Track Promotions and the Steel Block Bandits that they had made a very big mistake regarding the October 23rd weekend.

The Allegany County Fair Board double booked the fairgrounds that weekend and has forced Oval Track Promotions to move the Maryland Western Nationals to the October 14th, 15th and 16th weekend. The Allegany County Fair Board was very apologetic in regards to their mistake.

Allegany County Speedway Promoter and Oval Track Promotions President, Rick Jones. “We hate to see any date get moved but with this being a race date later in the year it should not affect our car count or fan attendance. It will still be a great weekend of racing.”

Steel Block Bandits Promoter, Danny Wilson. “I am thankful this was address early in the season and I would also like to apologize to our race teams, sponsors and fans for any inconvenience this may have caused.”

The new dates for the Western Maryland Nationals are as follows for the Bandits:

October 14th – Practice
October 15th – Time Trials, Heats and Dash
October 16th – B-Mains and A-Main
